JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) has overall responsibility for working under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and is responsible for planning, development, coordination,
implementation and evaluation of nursing care delivery including but not limited to, Quality, Infection Prevention, Employee Health and Patient Experience. In conjunction with other nursing leaders providing professional development, evidence- based practices and nursing research for clinical programs for the provision of safe, high quality, clinical care for the patients of East Adams Rural Healthcare (EARH).
The ACNO reports to the CNO and may act on behalf of the CNO in her/his absence as assigned. The ACNO participates with the CNO in strategic planning, goal setting, program development and establishment of outcomes and methods of measurement. This individual works within the strategic vision of the CNO and works to ensure the effective coordination of human, fiscal and material resources across all aspects of nursing care delivery.
The ACNO will work closely with the other members of the nursing and senior management team, to assist in directing the administration and advancement of patient care service. This is achieved through analyzing and utilizing data, emerging trends, issues, technology, and an understanding of the organization’s vision, mission, and goals to direct the strategic planning, organization, leadership, service delivery, performance improvement, and evaluation of nursing standards of performance.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Progressive leadership experience at a nurse manager level or higher. Five years of nurse leadership experience with demonstrated outcomes required.

Preferred/Optional: Director or higher level with experience in consensus building, team work, staff training, educating, interdepartmental collaboration, Patient Experience, Quality, Infection Prevention & Control, Employee Health, Compliance, Risk and Survey Preparedness.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Washington Department of Health. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire, ACLS and TNCC.
Preferred/Optional: Specialty certification in Executive Nursing Practice and/or Healthcare Administration.

EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Preferred/Optional: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
