Emergency Room Services

East Adams County’s emergency room is the first stop for local residents experiencing a severe injury or illness. We’ve equipped our hospital’s emergency room (ER) with the basic equipment and staff needed to treat patients quickly and assess their conditions without delay.

If our ER team determines that additional, more advanced treatment is needed, we’ll coordinate with our regional partners to transfer our patients and ensure they receive constant care every step of the way.

Whenever you need immediate medical attention, we’re ready for you.

Visiting the Emergency Room

From the moment you arrive, the EARH staff will focus on you and your situation. They will assess your injury or illness and then register you into our system so that we can begin your treatment and order any needed tests.

Whenever possible, please bring a government-issued ID and any health insurance policy information with you. Rest assured that you will receive immediate medical attention regardless of your ability to pay at the time of service. Our purpose is to keep the people in our community safe and healthy.

Types of Emergency Room Services

East Adams Rural Healthcare’s modern emergency room services include the following levels of treatment:

Level V Trauma Care Center

The East Adams Rural Healthcare ER is equipped to provide initial evaluation and stabilization for patients experiencing a medical emergency. We have basic diagnostic capabilities and are able to prepare patients for transfer to higher levels of care at partner locations in nearby cities.

Level III Stroke Center

Our stroke center offers essential clinical services for stroke patients. Our goal is to get the individual stable and determine the next immediate steps for care, such as transportation to a nearby facility with more specialized care.

Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) is a protocol used worldwide for immediate treatment of injured patients. It’s an efficient, reliable method designed to assess and stabilize victims as quickly as possible.

Adams County EMS

East Adams Rural Healthcare partners with the emergency medical services (EMS) department of the Adams County Public Hospital District #2 to provide prehospital patient care.

Adams County EMS operates four fully equipped ambulances in the Ritzville and Washtucna communities which are on call 24/7/365. Our team of trained and experienced EMTs (emergency medical technicians) is dedicated to providing the good folks in our area with the highest levels of care and professionalism.
