Care-A-Van

We provide a wide range of services — including transportation — to ensure every patient receives the best possible medical care. The Care-A-Van program is for patients who need help getting to and from medical appointments. This free transportation service is available to residents who live within the city limits of Ritzville, Washington.

How Care-A-Van Works

To schedule a ride, patients must call EARH at least 24 hours in advance. You can schedule a ride at the same time you schedule your appointment, or you can call 509-659-1200.

The Care-A-Van will pick up patients at their homes and take them to their appointment, and then bring them back home after the appointment is finished. The van can also drop patients off at the pharmacy if needed.

The service operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Due to a full Care-A-Van schedule, please remember to request van service at least one day before your appointment so that we can make sure we have an opening for you.

Our drivers will be able to wait five minutes at your house, so please be ready when the van arrives. The driver will not be able to come to your door, so keep an eye out for them! They can, however, assist patients with limited mobility to enter and exit the vehicle.

East Adams Rural Healthcare is always striving to enhance our service to the greater Ritzville community. Transportation through our Care-A-Van program was previously only allowed within the city limits of Ritzville, Washington.

Now we’ve expanded our service area and made it easier to understand how far our van can travel. See the radius map for a simple visual of our current service area.

One exception is for required swing/inpatient appointments that are out of town. We require a minimum of one week in advance to schedule out-of-town transportation. Your care coordinator or house supervisor will cooperate with the transport team to finalize the arrangements.
