Foundation Information

Formed in the early 1980's, the East Adams County Healthcare Foundation supports the East Adams Rural Healthcare in the communities of Ritzville and Washtucna. Each year the Hospital Foundation has sponsored a benefit for the purpose of raising funds specific to the needs of the community. In the past, the Hospital Foundation has raised money for upgrading ambulances, a laptop computer for the EMT Staff, equipment for the Physical Therapy and many more items, making each visit to our hospital and clinics a smooth experience.

During 2019, We were able to pay for the EMT classes, purchase a sit-to-stand lift for the hospital as well as award two scholarships pursuing medical careers. We congratulate Diamond Spain and Lauren Ellis.

Fundraising included a Singing Valentine and Rose delivery; hosted Music in the Park with a food booth, hosted the Rest Area Coffee Station, and held our annual Dinner and Auction with the theme "Let's Go to the Hop!".

We have been at a standstill during 2020 due to the COVID shut down, but are hoping to pick it back up in the spring of 2021. We had one scholarship awarded this year. Congratulations to Lauren Ellis.

The board would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support over the last years and without it, our goals would not be reached. The board strives for excellence in healthcare in East Adams County and your support helps achieve these goals.

Ronald W. Baumann Scholarship

The East Adams County Healthcare Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established to improve and support healthcare in eastern Adams County. The Foundation has an annual Wine Tasting and Auction each fall which is their primary fundraising event. All proceeds from the event are distributed back to organizations within eastern Adams County for healthcare related needs and to support a scholarship for students pursuing a degree or training in a healthcare field.

Applicant must be enrolled in a post-secondary two (2) or (4) year education program in healthcare-related field. Applicants must have completed one-half of the required credits necessary to complete their program. Applications should always be complete and submitted by May 1st of the current year.

If there is more than one winner the scholarship amount will be reduced.

The recipients of the scholarship in June of 2017 were: Connor O'Neil and Kaytlin Phillips. We would like to congratulate them.
