Summary:
The patient navigator works to facilitate a quality, compassionate patient experience during a
clinic visits from registration to discharge. The navigator, as a team leader, coordinates care to
assure a seamless visit and proactively engages with patients during the experience to address
challenges to patient flow and patient care concerns. The patient care navigator provides direct
assistance to the care team in the clinic throughout the process to include registration, direct
patient care aspects and patient referral and billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess
strong communication skills, medical knowledge, and a compassionate approach to patient
care, especially within diverse and underserved communities. The patient navigator reports to
the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
At Least two years’ experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting;
documented experience in customer service with preference given to patient satisfaction
responsibilities in health care.
Preferred: Experience as team leader/supervisor in ambulatory care setting
Experience working with individuals from underserved communities.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) management
systems.
Excellent patient service skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively across
diverse populations.
Medical Assistant Certification through Washington State or Validation of military training that is
equivalent to the Medical Assistant.
Wage: $25.25-$34.95
