Credit and Collection PolicyEffective: December 1, 2017
Policy:The credit and collection policy of the district is designed to preserve a sound financial basis for operations of the institutions in order that vital essential services may be obtained. The policy establishes a responsibility for the prompt collection of patient charges to maintain the financial solvency of the hospital District.
Procedure:A. All Co-pays are due at the time of service.
B. Payment may be made with cash or credit card. The District accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card.
C. Monthly installments are available if the District's minimum payment is met. The following minimum payments apply to the combined hospital/clinic total balance per guarantor:

Minimum Payment $60.00
Minimum Payment $70.00
Minimum Payment $75.00
Minimum Payment $85.00
Minimum Payment 10%
D. A discount of 5% may be offered if paid in a one-time, paid in full payment.
E. Accounts aged 120 days without meeting the minimum payment or contract amount will be sent to the collection agency if the minimum payment or contract payment is not received within 30 days of pre-collection notice.
F. If the guarantor makes payment arrangements, but does not remit payment, the account will be placed with a collection agency.
G. Returned mail will immediately be sent to the collection agency if no forwarding address is available.
H. A letter will be sent to the maker of any NSF check informing them the check was returned by the bank. This check will be forwarded to the collection agency if no attempt is made by the maker to resolve the matter within 30 days of the date of the letter. A returned check fee will be added to the balance due.
